Step 1 Resources

Firecracker
Firecracker is a subscription-based online system of review articles and practice questions. They use spaced repetition to help you remember what you study. For me, it was a great way to learn and a great way to keep from forgetting everything about microbiology when I moved on to pathophysiology. Click here to visit the Firecracker home page
USMLE World (a.k.a. “UWorld”)
USMLE World is definitely an old stand by, and I wouldn’t recommend trying to study for Step 1 without it. I hope to write a full post soon about how to make the best use of this resource to study both for your classes and for Step 1. Get a group together from your school and you can get a group discount.
Pathoma
Pathoma.com is a great, lecture-based online review tool. He tells you everything you REALLY need to know about pathology with useful mnemonics mixed in, and without all the fluff. I highly recommend this course.
First Aid for USMLE Step 1
This book is great to use during M2 as you slowly “warm up” for your Step 1 studying. I recommend annotating it from your other resources as you go.
